Before you book

Questions on this itinerary.

Is nine days too long for Ladakh?+

For most first-timers the seven-day circuit is enough. This one is for people who have either been before, or who travel specifically for landscape and want Changthang and Turtuk rather than only the headline stops.

How rough is the Pangong to Tso Moriri road?+

Genuinely rough — unpaved for long stretches, high, remote, and eight to ten hours of driving. It is one of the most beautiful drives in India and it is not comfortable. Both things are true.

Is Turtuk worth the detour?+

It is the part of this itinerary guests mention most in their reviews. Balti culture, a completely different food and language from the rest of Ladakh, and a village that only opened to tourists in 2010.
